After spring bulbs bloom and fade, hostas grow quickly.	Astilbes put on a beautiful show.
In the beginning...	...the show was not as spectacular.

Gallardia and peppers mingle with iris in the midday sunshine.	Colors seem to vary with amount of sunlight.
Yucca flowers for the first time in over 11 years. Was it from our wet spring?	Shade garden combines both young and middle aged plants.
Altheas quickly engulf shade plants.	Cherry tree shelters the shade plants but not the sun loving iris.
Oak protects the hostas...	...while the lilies, iris, and wild rose bask in the sun only inches away.

Spring flowering bulbs supply abundant color.

Tulips and daffodils spring up early, while hiacynths still have not shown.	Hostas grow quickly until the tree overhead leafs out.

Mulberry and Black Eyed Susans nicely frame an unknown volunteer plant.
